Google Breaks The Bank!! – Google DFP Ad Manager Program

- Image via Wikipedia
I thought I’d make everyone aware of a COMPELLING and EXCITING new development at Google…Doubleclick for Publishers (DFP)! This is an improvement on the [Google Ad Manager Platform. This looks to be something that could, quite literally, break the bank in terms of Internet Marketing . More often than not, when great things arise, one almost misses out on them. I found out about this while updating/maintaining my Facebook Fan page for E-Turnall.com. The Google Group on Facebook announced this new move Monday at about 8:00. I started to create this post after I signed up for it and did some research. You can read all about it here.
It never ceases to amaze me how sometimes even I almost miss out on something this juicy!
But enough of my ramblings...on to the bank breaking (smile).
Google Just anounced an upgrade to their Ad Manager program. They've stated that they have a better way for publishers (affiliate marketers) to serve ads on their prospective pages. Google aquired an ad management company in March of 2008 known as Double Click for Publishers (DFP). What this program/web interface does is basically allows for an avenue to generate higher revenue for one’s ad space. Ordinarlly, a publisher with a Google Adsense account would create a Javascript code to be placed in, say, a sidebar widget (or other places) on her/his website.
When someone clicks on these Google ads, the publisher relatively gets cents on the click (NO FUN AT ALL…well a little). Now, however, the Ad Manager upgrade to DFP program allows for a publisher to basically name their own price for ad space. Google terms it ‘defining ad opportunities’, but seasoned vets with high-ranking websites may translate this as ‘print money here’…lol. In reading the getting started guide within the Google admin interface, DFP allows its users the leverage to serve postings (known as orders) as to their open ad spaces. Users can form agreements with publishers on Dollar amount, duration and location of ads. One word…Streamlined! As this is a relatively new development for me, I’ll have to give it a test run ON THIS AND OTHER SITES and right a review about this at a later date.
According to Google, some of the key features of the program include:
- Maximizing the revenue of your unsold and non-guaranteed inventory with Google AdSense. Connect with potential advertisers through Google Ad Planner to increase your sell-through.
- Fast, flexible and robust reporting that enables you to measure campaign delivery and uncover new opportunities.
- Ad trafficking and deliveryControl when, where, and to whom, your ads appear. Use flexible delivery controls to deliver ads how you and your advertisers want to see them.
- Inventory management -Flexible inventory setup and targeting expand your array of sales opportunities
The DFP program is also broken down between large and small business size packages which is really good as it give more choices based on your particular business model and looks out for the ‘little guy’…The next generation of Google Ads Manager!
The above development brings home a good reason and explanation for all my previous posts about search engine optimization. Those were needed to help you get YOUR WEBSITE(s) ranked pretty well in the search engines. This is also a great reason to get your site quantified at Quantcast.
A lot of my buddy-publishers and I go to Quantcast, very frequently, to gather stats on the hottest websites to promote affiliate offers on. With a good ranking in Alexa, as well as Quantcast, one can leverage the Google Ad Manager (Soon to upgrade to DFP ) program to skyrocket the buying/selling of ad space and quite literally…BREAK THE BANK!
More to follow at a later date
To our continued success,
Eric Jones
